Subject:Grounds Condition and the Hurricane.
Time:11:36 am
Hi. This is a question for staff / cast / vendors:

My wife works for one of the vendors (Scarlett's Corset, next to SkyChairs) and the lady who owns Scarlett's Corset has been unable to get to TRF grounds yet, as up to today the road coming from Houston seems to have been closed due to conditions and the road from Navasota closed by authorities.

We hope to assess our shop this weekend.

Anyone have any detailed news and/or happen to live in Magnolia / the grounds?

For those of y'all that aren't staff / cast / vendors: TRF itself will open promptly on October 11th as has been announced.

I was out there on Saturday. The known damages (ie...the obvious ones) are as follows:

1) Main Office: The roof was peeled off. There was massive flooding in the server room. The ticket safe was fine but the brochures are now a soggy mess. Roof is now repaired and tickets are on sale according to plan.

2)The Bier House by the Castle stage. It's Kaput. It's owned by the Imhoff's and will probably be rebuilt by the end of the week.

3)Tarot/Massage Booth in Sherwood...got squished by a tree.

4) A flag pole on the jousting arena didn't make it.

5) A plank is missing from the Castle Stage

Apart from that, there are obviously some downed branches and crooked signs. For the most part, we got VERY VERY lucky. Some shops may have a little more damage than can be seen with just walking by. It's really hard to tell with shut doors what's wrong inside booths, but again...mostly good shape to the naked eye!

We're booth 44, right next to the Arborhaus. Hopefully we weathered it well.

Thanks for the report!

We took a quick swing by faire on a supply run to College Station and got some pics of the site. Surprisingly, considering how much damage we have seen here in Conroe and further south, there was not that much damage other than that already mentioned. Considering we are still building an addition onto the smithy, I am grateful for that :-)

One of the trees that cracked off at the base
Another tree that went over, shattering the stone planter bench around it's base
A tree that split pretty much in half
Branches down in Sherwood
Sorry I didn't get more, we had to do fuel and supply pickups before they ran out, so we zipped through and snapped a few shots. There were already folks out working on some of the damage when we went out, so I think everything should be fine by opening weekend
