I am interested in applying to work at TRF this year. Does anyone know how strict they are about taking one weekend off? Halloween is a big deal for my friends and I, we celebrate it the way some people celebrate Christmas, so I'd want to take that weekend off if at all possible. Would that put me out of the job running, or would that be a workable thing?
Janet Bozarth of House Morningstar passed away last week. Her obituary can be found here. House Morningstar has been a vendor at TRF and various SCA events for many years, and Janet will be missed by a lot of people. If you're a part of a TRF or SCA message board where this news hasn't been posted, could you pass the word along?
As you may have heard, early Sunday morning, March 2, someone smashed a window at Things Celtic and took several items. One of the favorite things in the shop was the large bronze dragon who guarded the sword case, he was taken. The burglar also took many items of silver jewelry, including several pieces with green amber and some silver bracelets. Also taken were many beautiful silver Goddesses from Glastonbury, England set with semi-precious stones and pentacles. Silver spirals, Celtic knotwork designs, symbols of Ireland, Scotland and Wales are gone. Enameled silver jewelry with standing stones made by Sheila Fleet of the Orkney Islands were also taken.
If you have any information about this case, please contact Detective Gish with the Austin Police Department at 974-5320. Or email firstname.lastname@example.org
I know these might be considered a bit old by now, but I never got a chance to post these pictures online. I'm not sure if anyone's interested in looking at these here, but here they are nevertheless. I went the weekend before Halloween and it was my first time!
I have three weekend passes to the Ren Fair that I don't think I will get a chance to use this year. If anyone is interested, comment or send me a message. I will sell them at face value ($30 for Sat and Sun).
